December 19, 2003 - Boston Attack play first official game in franchise history, in Albuquerque, NM, upsetting
the Conquistadors 22-9 by forcing four Albuquerque turnovers and a ball control offense featuring RB Jake
Trinkle.
S005 - The Attack fight hard all season long to stay in games, and even manages to win a few along the way,
but a lack of talent turns out to be the team's downfall, but the team finishes 7-9 as an expansion team. Fourth
round draft choice, QB Juan Schindler starts all but one game of the season at quarterback while the team's
stingy defense is headed up by CB Barry Kelleher, who notches 120 tackles and 8 interceptions to lead the team.
April 10, 2004 - Boston Attack owner Greg K is awarded the annual Commissioner's Award for Season V.
May 29, 2004 - Boston takes part in the Season VI TUFF College Entry Draft. With the 18th pick in the draft, Boston selects OLB
Bobby Rockingham from the University of Washington.
S006 - Boston Attack earn first ever playoff berth finishing with a 10-6 record, qualifying as a wild card. The team surprised the league by marching
out to a fast 6-2 start, including an upset win over the Baltimore Battalion in Week 3. Led by veteran offseason acquisition, QB Steve Champ, the
team utilizes an efficient ball control offense and a hard nosed defense to reach the playoffs.
After a first round bye, the Attack face their division rival Baltimore Battalion on the road in the team's first ever playoff game. In a tight defensive
contest, the Battalion eliminate the Attack 10-9.
S007 - The Boston Attack release a new updated version of their shark logo to begin use in Season VII, along with a complete uniform makeover.
|
S007 - Boston selects DT Todd Pickering out of Texas A & M in the first round of the S008 Draft.
|
S007 - The Attack suffers through a dismal start to the season, struggling early and
often. QB Steve Champ, S006's team hero, loses his starting job amidst the team's
troubles, to rookie QB Fred Kelly, a job he would eventually regain. In the midseason,
Boston makes a big push to recover from their early struggles, eventually evening their
record at 5-5. But the team would not win another game before the end of the season,
finishing the season worse than they started, losing its final six games, finishing at 5-11,
placing fourth in the United Atlantic division. Frustrated by the dropoff from S006, team
management seemed to throw in the proverbial towel, trading standout CB Barry Kelleher
and RB Bobby Anderson to the Sault Sainte Marie Moose, who went on to the TUFF title.
S008 - With their two first round draft choices in the S008 Draft, the Attack select WR Clarence Flannery from Central Florida, and DT Richard
Hix from Tennessee.
S008 - With another rocky start for the Attack and a terrible midseason swoon, the Boston
Attack stumble to a 4-8 record after twelve weeks. QB John Weatherhogg, acquired before
the season puts up respectable statistical numbers but the team struggles to win games. But
behind veteran QB Steve Champ's return to the starting lineup, the Attack finish strong by
winning their final four games of the season and squeeze in to the final wild card slot in the
United Conference. The Attack upset their rivals, the New York Syndicate 16-10 in the
Wildcard Round before falling again to the Baltimore Battalion 41-31 in the Divisional Round.
S008 - WR Howard Barone, T Germaine Frazer, and P Wally Attia all qualify for the All-TUFF United Conference team.
WR Howard Barone is voted TUFF's most underrated player while RB Amelio Blackledge is named Comeback Player of the Year.
S009 - Boston selects WR Danny Liu from Hawaii and QB Ray Booher from Akron in the first round of the S009 Draft.
S009 - The consistently inconsistent Attack struggle through an up and down early season
once again, despite the heralded play of rookie QB Ray Booher. This time it's the team
defense that lets the Boston hopefuls down. After a 3-6 start to the season, and on the heels
of a four game losing streak, the Attack make a bold move, trading RB Amelio Blackledge to
the Carolina Spartans for veteran QB Quinn Gray. Behind Gray, Boston opens up the offense
and finishes on a 6-1 run to end the season and to qualify for the playoffs again as a wildcard.
In a huge upset on the road, the Attack eliminate the defending TUFF champions, the Sault
Sainte Marie Moose, 30-20. The next week, however, the Baltimore Battalion again eliminate
the Attack, dominating them to the tune of 28-7.
CB Jerome Stanley, P Wally Attia, and RET Barney Livingston are all named to the All-TUFF United Conference team.
CB Jerome Stanley is voted Defensive MVP after intercepting 8 passes in S009, returning 6 for touchdowns.
S010 - With their first round pick in the S010 TUFF Draft, the Boston Attack select OLB Eric McSwain from Tulsa.
S010 - A relatively quiet offseason for the Attack ended with a late surprising move with the
re-acquisition of one time Boston RB Bobby Anderson from the Cleveland Commandos. The
move helped to bolster the Attack as the team rocketed out to an outstanding 6-0 start to the
S010 season, including an amazing 4th Quarter comeback at San Diego against the Smoke.
QB Quinn Gray continued his stellar play from S009 into the new season while Anderson
helped to balance the offense with a strong two-headed running game with new running
mate RB Tracy Blass. After a Week 7 loss to their longtime nemesis, the Baltimore Battalion
in Maryland, the Attack regrouped and enacted some revenge three weeks later over the
Battalion in a thrilling win in Boston. The Attack then ran the table for the rest of the regular
season, finishing at league best 15-1, winning their first ever United Atlantic Division title.
After dispatching the Wildcard Pittsburgh Bulls in the Divisional Round, the Attack hosted a
familiar playoff foe, the Baltimore Battalion in the United Conference Championship. A
well-played, hard fought battle ensued with the Attack holding on to an incredible 25-20 win
for the ages to advance to the team's first appearance in the TUFF Bowl.
Though outmatched by the defending TUFF Bowl Champion Mexico City Aztecs and their
top flight RB Granville Bashline in TUFF Bowl X, the Attack fiercely battled to the end,
leading 24-20 heading into the 4th Quarter. But in the final stanza the Aztecs took control of
the game, sealing the game with a late touchdown to send Boston away disappointed with a
38-24 loss in the league championship game.

S010 - QB Quinn Gray, RB Bobby Anderson, and T George Bergmann are all named to the S010 All-TUFF United Conference team.
QB Quinn Gray is voted S010 Comeback Player of the Year, and is also voted as the League MVP for S010.
S011 - With their first round pick in the S011 TUFF Draft, the Boston Attack select
CB Fred Lightner from Lafayette University.
S011- Coming off the franchise's first conference title, and with it the first TUFF Bowl
appearance, expectations for the S011 Attack rose around the city of Boston. With a brutal
schedule laid out for the Attack, it didn't take long for those expectations to come back
down to earth. After allowing the San Diego Smoke to mount a monumental comeback in
the season opener, and a pair of first half losses to Mexico City and the Baltimore
Battalion, Boston started the season at 4-3 and dropped out of the division race. Still, the
Attack rebounded by winning eight games in a row, including home wins over the
Battalion and the Memphis Shock, to lay claim to a wildcard playoff berth. QB Quinn
Gray, in what proved to be his final in TUFF, finished the regular season with 31
touchdown passes without an interception. RBs Bobby Anderson and Tracy Blass
provided the two-headed rushing attack, and the Attack defense proved as tough as any
once again, logging four shutouts on the season.
In the post-season, the Attack traveled to Baltimore to face the rival Battalion, a place Boston had never earned a playoff win in three tries previously.
The Attack defense stepped up its play, making several keys plays to vault to a 20-0 lead; a lead they would hold on for a 20-10 victory. The next week
in roller coaster affair, the Attack rallied to steal the game away from the heavily favored San Diego Smoke to return to the TUFF Bowl.
Against the powerful Memphis Shock, Boston struggled out of the gates, looking to QB Quinn Gray to lead them to a title. But the Shock defense
confused and frustrated Gray, forcing three key interceptions. Memphis capitalized on Boston's mistakes just enough to keep the Attack at bay, and the
Shock laid claim to the TUFF Bowl trophy, 30-23.
S011 - QB Quinn Gray, T George Bergmann, DE Hal Queeley, and CB Jerome Stanley are all named to the S011 All-TUFF United Conference
team.
RB Bobby Anderson is voted TUFF's most underrated player.
S012 - The Boston Attack send their first round pick in the S012 Draft to the
Sacramento Vipers for their S013 first round pick in a draft day trade, marking the first
time in franchise history that the Attack do not select a player in the first round of the
TUFF Draft.
S012 - Following the S011 season, Head Coach Mark Whipple
announces his retirement from coaching after 7 seasons at the helm,
amassing a 66-46 regular season record, one division title, and two
TUFF Bowl appearances. The Boston Attack move quickly to find
his replacement by promoting offensive coordinator and former
TUFF quarterback Cal Upshock to head coach,
S012 - After two consecutive TUFF Bowl appearances following the S010 and S011 seasons, the S012 season proves to be quite possibly the most
frustrating season in franchise history. After the S011 season, MVP QB Quinn Gray heads off into the retirement sunset and star RB Tracy Blass is cut in a
salary cap move by the team. All season long in S012, their absence is felt by the offense. Their replacements struggle to fill their shoes adequately and the
team's offensive production suffers. Veteran QB Zoltan Zephyr is traded following the season opening loss to Pittsburgh and rookie QB Michael DeLorean
and newcomer QB Billy Jackson fail to pick up the slack. RB Bobby Anderson enjoys a good season statistically, but the offense never gels and Boston
loses ten of their first thirteen games before finishing the miserable S012 season on a high note with a three game winning flourish.
S012- RB Bobby Anderson
and DE Sid Favor are
named to the S012 All-TUFF
United Conference team.
